St James’s Church of England High School

would like to warmly welcome families of Year 5 & 6 students to our Open Evenings on the following dates:

Wednesday 29th September 2021

Thursday 30th September 2021

Wednesday 6th October 2021

The evenings will begin with a talk to parents and carers from our Headteacher, Mrs Anderson. This will be followed by a tour of the school led by our Assistant Headteachers. There will be opportunities to ask informal questions, view some of our classrooms and facilities and meet some of our dedicated teaching staff.

Traditionally, our students from Years 7-11 are our 'tour guides' at Open Evening. They are the biggest advocates of our school and our young people are what our visitors complement most. We love and care about our students and want to protect them; so this year student numbers on site will be minimal.

To help us keep our students, staff and visitors safe, we are using a ticketed system, which will allow us to control the numbers of visitors on site at any one time. To book your tickets, follow the link below and use the 'Register' button to select the most appropriate ticket type for you.

For each evening there are 3 timed sessions available. Each session is 1hour 15mins long and visitors will be kindly asked to leave the school prior to the end of the selected timeslot.

BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL

Unfortunately, we will not be able to allow entry without a pre-booked ticket.

To allow the maximum number of families to attend the events, we respectfully request tickets are limited to a maximum of 3 per household: prospective students and parents only. Please leave siblings at home, where this is possible.

In the meantime, as last year was a little different, we created a collection of videos that we hope will give you a good overview of life at St James’s and allow you to see what we offer our young people.

We believe that these videos, and our ‘FAQs’ will answer any initial questions you may have.

Please DO NOT ATTEND if you have tested positive for COVID-19, are required to isolate, feel unwell or have symptoms of COVID-19: a high temperature of over 37.8 degrees, a new continuous cough or loss or change to your sense of smell or taste.

Wearing of Face Masks and completion of a Lateral Flow test at home beforehand is encouraged.
